Today, a group of Buddhist monks from several nations, along with their formerly Indian rescued dog, Aloka, embarked on a 2,300-mile journey across the United States of America, inspiring people all over the world. Who is Bhikku Pannakara
Venerable monk Bhikkhu Pannakara gains international notice for his leading to 2,300-mile Walk for Peace throughout the United States for year end of 2025 & starting of 2026. Instead of using lectures or slogans, he advocate for inner and outer peace by keep walking barefoot with 20 other monks, who are respected by the world, frequently in silence.
Lam Van Nguyen was the previous name of Venerable Pannakara.
1981- He born in Dak Lak, Vietnam, in 1981.
1997- He moved to the US in 1997.
He was a leader of the Buddhist Youth Association at Liên Hoa Temple in Irving and graduated with a degree in Information Technology Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
2007- He was given the monastic name Tuệ Nhân after being ordained as a novice monk in 2007 at Hương Đạo Temple in Fort Worth, Texas, under the supervision of Venerable Khantidammo Pháp and Venerable Ratanaguna Bửu Đức.
2013- Venerable Pannakara was named the Hương Đạo Temple's Deputy Abbot and Administrator in 2013. Later, in order to help communities worldwide, he established the Hương Tư Charity Foundation. Numerous nations throughout Asia, Africa, and the Americas have benefited from humanitarian efforts by this charity. These initiatives include constructing schools and clean water wells for children in Uganda, delivering safe drinking water and education to isolated villages, and providing disaster relief to those affected by earthquakes, floods, and storms in Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, the US, and other nations. Food, medication, shelter, and long-term recovery support have all been provided.
2022- Venerable Pannakara started the Dhammacetiya Project, a marble stupa complex designed to preserve the entire Tipiṭaka in several world languages, in late 2020 with the approval of his instructor. Monastics, lay practitioners, and local government continue to promote the project, which was formally presented in 2022.
2022–2023- Along with over 100 austere monks, Venerable Pannakara participated in the Dhutanga pilgrimage in 2022–2023. With the help of a rescue dog named Aloka, they traversed more than 3,400 kilometers across India and Nepal in 112 days, all on foot, via the sacred places where the Buddha lived.
2025-2026- On October 26, 2025, at the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas, the Walk for Peace will begin its 2,300-mile journey across the United States. Along with a rescue dog named Aloka, the trip is expected to end on February 13, 2026, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Aloka, the Peace Dog, is now an American citizen. They simply brought three robes and an alms bowl for this entire voyage, slept outside, and subsisted on the daily alms given by lay people. He has persisted on the trek in spite of severe weather, physical exhaustion, and illness necessitating medical care.

The world, whether peoples of different countries walk with monk or not, is inspired by Bhikku Pannakara's presence, wisdom, vision, and dedication, which greatly enhance their purpose.
