office of Phuentsholing remain close on Saturday, Sunday and on national
holidays. No entry on these days in Bhutan by Road. Arrange your tour keeping

Pre advance booking of stay in Bhutan is necessary.
For the most part, Indian citizens planning to travel to this country
must have one of the following two legal "Travel Documents" as well
as a valid Indian passport that is valid for at least six months.

On the other hand, Indian travelers arriving by air: they must have
one of the aforementioned travel documents and obtain an entry permit at the
Paro International Airport.
Meanwhile, an Indian tourist is only permitted to travel to Thimphu
and Paro with the "entry permit." On the contrary, any tourist
traveling beyond Thimphu and Paro must obtain a "route permit" from
the RGoB Immigration Office in Thimphu on any working day. This facility is now
available at Phentsholing Immigration office also.
You can enter to this country with your own car only. Driving that
car should be owner of the car.
Indian citizens travelling to this country are allowed to carry
Indian currency unto the denominations of Rs. 500 only up to the limit of Rs.
25000. Over and above this amount (Rs. 25000), the denomination must be of Rs.
100 and below.
Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) - Rs 1,200 per day
Children aged 6-12 years will be given a 50% concessionary discount
on their SDF. This is not applicable of children bellow 5 years.
It is now mandatory for Indians to be accompanied by a guide for
tour in this country.
Guide Charges nearly 1000 to 1200 per day on bargaining.
You have to take Bhutanese SIM card at Bhutan immigration office for
the touring period. Other networks not work in Bhutan.

Transportation in Bhutan
All transportation in this country is by roadways only. This is a
country where no rail & no traffic signal on road. Private Car on rent
-2500 to 3000 per day.

Phuntsholing: Financial center of Bhutan
State Transport buses, private taxies to various states of this
country are operating from Phuntsholing.
Phuentsholing Bus Station is near by 10 min walk from Bhutan
immigration office for local buses to go to various destinations of country.
Local Bus transportation-
You can either travel by Bus, the fare of which is around Rs. 240/-
per head or so. You can book bus from P/Soling RSTA. There are buses every 30
minutes. These are generally Toyota coaster bus. You can get the schedule of
Bus on the RTSA, Bhutan Government Website.
Share taxi cost 500 Rs. per person. Again, you'll get it near RSTA
or on both Jaigaon and Phuntsholing side.
Exclusive Vehicle or Taxi- There is lots of taxis available just ask
one of them and bargain accordingly. You should be cost Rs. 2000 and Rs. 2500
for a small 4-seater taxi.
